Abstract

The type of saponin found in Murallia heisteria and M. satureoides is not different from the one present in M. ononidifolia and widespread in the Polygala, Carpolobia, Securidaca and Nylandia species previously analysed.  This type ofsaponin is  characterized by a specific genin : presenegenin.
